WAVEBOMB - Wake Up In The Sun (2026)
Some songs make you want to drop everything and head out into the sun. With Wake Up In The Sun, WAVEBOMB turns everyday frustration into an anthem about friendship, freedom and breaking away from routine. Fuzzy guitars, shout-along hooks and carefree beach-punk spirit: the track explodes from the very first seconds and never lets up.
“Wake Up In The Sun is a reminder that hope still exists, even when everything feels broken and the world keeps telling you who you should be,” says guitarist and vocalist Anthony Cauvin. “I wanted this song to feel like the moment you stop overthinking, grab your friends, crank the guitars and remember that life can always be exciting!”
Sonically, the track was mixed by Ayumu Matsuo through a Revox B77 tape machine, then mastered by Brian Lucey, whose credits include The Black Keys, Arctic Monkeys and Royal Blood. The result has all the warmth, grit and analogue feel of garage rock. The music video extends the song’s spirit into a surreal, infectiously fun world of TV-headed characters set against vibrant summer colours.
About the band
The alternative rock project of Anthony Cauvin, WAVEBOMB was born in Singapore in 2019 before settling in Toulouse, France. The guitar-and-drums duo draws on punk urgency, garage fuzz and lo-fi sensitivity to shape a visceral, stage-ready sound in the vein of FIDLAR, Skegss, The Hives, Bass Drum of Death and The Black Keys, a formula honed on stages across Asia.
Riding the success of its debut single Facing Waves, which has passed 225,000 streams on Spotify, WAVEBOMB is now putting the finishing touches on its first album: a dose of controlled chaos and sun-soaked rage.
