“Wild Birds is a committed video that denounces the excesses of our society and questions our relationship with power, consumerism, violence and the planet. Every image was conceived as a symbol,” explains Thomas Frank Hopper. To carry the message, he wanted “a figure who is at once naive, fragile and rebellious”: Kaya, meaning “little sister” in a Native American language, a little girl who in some ways reminds him of his own daughters.

Directed and edited by Chloë Chapel and drawn by Smooz, who also designed the album cover, the video accompanies this track shared with Meri Lu Jacket. “It was a real joy to make this project with them,” says the artist.

Wild Birds is taken from Wild Ones Never Die, his third album, released in December 2025 on Rock Nation. Bolder in its sonic identity and more open to indie rock influences, the record brings contemporary blues and alternative rock into dialogue, confirming the maturity of a musician in full evolution.

About the artist

Singer-songwriter and lap steel player Thomas Frank Hopper has established himself as one of the rising figures of Belgian modern blues rock. He draws inspiration from Led Zeppelin, Ben Harper, John Butler, Jack White, The Black Keys and Rival Sons. Winner of the Belgian Blues Challenge and a finalist at the European Blues Challenge, he represented Belgium as far as the quarterfinals of the International Blues Challenge in Memphis.

With Bloodstone (2021), praised for its authenticity and included in Classic 21’s “Best of 2021”, he laid the foundations of a modern blues rock driven by lap steel and powerful riffs. Paradize City (2023) opened up his sound to more rock colours, ahead of Wild Ones Never Die. In 2026, he was chosen to open the Francofolies de Spa ahead of Razorlight and Sting.
