Gimme A Minute, Santa Claws in praise of freedom

Santa Claws - Gimme A Minute (2026)

Always cool, never on time: Sally has a knack for annoying those around her, who are forever left waiting. With Gimme A Minute, Santa Claws turns this eccentric, life-loving young woman into a true symbol of freedom. Sally couldn’t care less about schedules and diaries, lets nothing and no one dictate her life, and lives day to day without wondering what tomorrow will look like.

For Greg Aubert, the band’s singer and guitarist, Sally is “a child who never accepted the codes of the adult world in order to grow up”. She lives at night and sleeps by day, sometimes the other way round, until the two blur into one. And while we keep chasing time, she stretches the hours and minutes as she pleases. An escape that has already won people over across the Channel: Jeremy Bergman of the British outlet Mesmerized calls it “a real gem from start to finish”.

Sands of Time

Gimme A Minute is one of the singles that heralded Sands of Time, Santa Claws’s second album, out on 2 October 2026 on streaming platforms and on vinyl. The result of nearly five years of fully self-produced work, the record takes a more pop turn: analogue synths, pianos, waves of acoustic guitars and airy backing vocals. It was recorded and mixed by Antoine Montgaudon at Echofantastic, the band’s studio in La Chapelle-Neuve (Côtes-d’Armor), then mastered by Christophe Chavanon at Kerwax studios in Loguivy-Plougras, where the band celebrated its release on 27 September with a showcase recorded on analogue tape.

About the band

Formed in Brittany a little over ten years ago, Santa Claws revolves around the songwriting duo of Greg Aubert and Antoine Montgaudon. In 2017 the band recorded its first album with American producer Greg Gordon (Oasis, Supergrass, Rival Sons, Triggerfinger), before steering its indie rock roots towards a more polished, brighter alternative pop. Its influences range from the experimental depth of Radiohead to the melodic ingenuity of the Beatles, by way of Oasis anthems, Bon Iver’s textures and the energy of Supergrass.

On stage, Greg Aubert (vocals, guitar), Antoine Montgaudon (guitar, keyboards, backing vocals), Teddy Moisan (bass, backing vocals) and Julien Pinel (drums, backing vocals) are now joined by guitarist Stéphane Kérihuel: a three-guitar line-up for a dense, organic sound, built for festival stages and clubs alike.
