Primitive Chaos - Enemy (2025)
Primitive Chaos hails from Yonne (Vézelay) and plays garage rock and rock 'n' roll. This energetic, joyful, and bouncy duo invites us to discover their single "Enemy," taken from their debut album "Born From Chaos" . The song has a punk energy, is straightforward, and gets right to the point. It addresses everything that holds us back in modern life. The character in the song takes stock—he believed all the promises of happiness sold to him (capitalism, paid work, consumerism, security) and has now decided to reclaim his freedom. The relationship between the "hero" of the song and modern life is treated like a love story, but our character is tired and has come to break up and take control of his life again. As the band likes to say during their concerts, this song is their "cathartic" track.
About the Band:
A duo both in life and on stage, Primitive Chaos consists of Jeff on guitar, vocals, and composition, and Estelle on drums. The group was born by chance one day in March 2023 out of a desire to externalize frustration and anger, as a way to let off steam. And that’s what Primitive Chaos continues to do—play energetic, primitive, joyful, organic garage rock/rock 'n' roll to vent and invite the audience to do the same. Their music is inspired by British rock from the '60s and '70s (the mod R&B scene, 1977 punk), rock 'n' roll, garage rock, and grunge rock. The band's lyrics are poetic, inspired by philosophical thought. They highlight aspects of life and society that we don’t always think about but which profoundly influence us. These lyrics aim to be humanistic, denouncing the alienation of modern life, unchecked capitalism, nihilism, exploitation, TV manipulation, overconsumption, and more. Primitive Chaos wants to scream that they are alive and free and invite their audience to do the same.
