O-Diod - Lina (2024)

Lina is the first track released on streaming platforms since the band’s restructuring in early 2023. It marks a clear break between the old O-DIOD and today’s version. This song embodies the band members’ desire to create rock music that moves the crowd, while incorporating an electro edge. The lyrics are simple yet essential, reflecting the character at the heart of the song—Lina, an everyday woman who wants neither the moon nor riches, just to be herself. The track was featured in a live studio session released on YouTube in June 2024.

About the Band

O-DIOD is a project that has evolved over time, changing names, forms, and styles several times before finally forging its own identity in 2023.

In 2018, two musician brothers, Baptiste and Bastien—then 16 and 20 years old—decided to start a project together. The first, a drummer trained at the conservatory, is passionate about digital audio workstations (DAW), digital creation, recording, and mixing. The second is a self-taught guitarist (who studied piano for six years during his teens) with a love for writing and poetry.

Blind to the world of live performance, the two brothers were quickly joined by Camille, a bassist and multi-instrumentalist, and a first singer. Together, they played a few shows in and around Rennes. During their composition sessions, the band explored a wide range of styles—progressive, funk, psychedelic, drum & bass, variety, blues, and heavy metal—a diverse set of influences that proved difficult to channel.

Soon, the three musicians parted ways with their singer but continued composing. The challenge was to quickly find a new voice for O-DIOD. The turning point came in March 2023 when Olivia, a singer with 12 years of conservatory training in lyric singing, joined the band. O-DIOD was now complete in its final form and could focus on composing an entirely new set from start to finish. Within months, the band’s identity became clearer: O-DIOD loves rock, electronic sounds, lights, and the notion of the "future." A kind of "electro sci-fi rock" emerged, blending influences like Muse, Shaka Ponk, M83, and many others. Imagine a voice both dense and ethereal, enchanting and powerful, singing French lyrics over a saturated guitar-bass duo, frenetic samples, and a beat that makes you tap your foot.

With around forty concerts under their belt, the band saw significant progress in 2024, performing 22 shows, winning a competition (XL’Air Festival), releasing a live session, and producing a series of four covers recorded, filmed, and published on social media. In 2025, they kicked off the year by winning the competition at the legendary Rock’N Solex Festival, followed by a second victory at the King Arthur Festival competition and a third win at the Ton Bourg Battant Festival competition.

Today, their goal remains unchanged: to persevere, invest even more, and reach even further.
