Soror, Latin for sister. The one loved forever, the one who protects us or pushes us away, who soothes us or betrays us… The new song by If After Midnight is about that heartbreaking bond with a loved one who drifts away and ends up becoming the enemy, about the love-hate that drives us to acts whose consequences can only be sorrow and everlasting regret.

Having taken a very summer-vibe path with Il me dit…, the young artist returns to a more melancholic pop and makes the choirs the centrepiece of the track. Harmonised vocals, cello counterpoint, sub-bass and a powerful kick: Soror draws on the sounds of the Nordic countries, moves from gentleness to revolt and leaves the listener as the sole judge of its outcome.

In the wake of Il me dit…

Released on 10 April 2026 (ESProduction / Complice Music / Virgin Music), Il me dit… was played on many radio stations and playlists and allowed If After Midnight to consolidate her project and her network of partners. The song can be (re)discovered on streaming platforms and in a live session. Soror, out on 30 October 2026, heralds a debut EP expected in 2027.

About the artist

If After Midnight is an 18-year-old artist who divides her time between singing and drawing. Like much of the “post-covid” generation, she prefers to focus on the present moment rather than on a future she sees as uncertain. Soror is her third song.
