Herein - Burn It All (2026)

Burn It All, Here[in]’s cold rock fury

Herein - Burn It All (2026)

Can You Hear Me took a long time to come together for Here[in], yet, curiously, Burn It All was one of the quickest songs to take shape. The band knew exactly what it wanted: a very upfront, almost obsessive bass that gives the track all its drive, backed by resolutely rock guitars.

The subject could hardly be more contemporary: someone who goes from being a victim to becoming their abuser’s tormentor. To tell the story of that shift, the song moves through several states of mind and lets real violence build over just over five minutes. On stage, it is also one of the tracks the band regularly closes its shows with.

Burn It All is the fourth of the EP’s six tracks, alongside A Day in a Shell, Can You Hear Me, A Guide for Soul, Bastard and Inverness. Lyrics and music are by Here[in], production by Another Time, and the record was recorded, mixed and mastered by Paul Magne at TMB Productions. The cover is an illustration by Mozzi.

About the band

Formed in Bordeaux in the early 2000s by Fred Lacan and Laurent Mesaric, Here[in] describes itself as cold rock: the sensuality of a female voice, the stoicism of cold wave and the fire of rock. After a first album, N.W.O, in 2004, followed by Overdream, the band shared the stage with Punish Yourself, Charles de Goal and Los Carniceros del Norte, and released an acoustic EP in 2017.

Over the years, Here[in] has been through many line-up changes and two breaks, after the loss of guitarist Karim Aurabi in 2014 and of co-founder Fred Lacan in March 2025. The band is back today with Déborah Cat Lorena on vocals, Angèle Congy on cello, Eric Coneim and Xavier Palau on guitars and bass, and Eric Vérité on drums.
