GREEN MOSS - Shake the Crown (2026)
It all starts with restraint. Shake the Crown opens on a suspended, hypnotic intro, like a slowly rising mist. But with GREEN MOSS, calm never lasts long: the deceptively serene verses tip without warning into furious choruses, where saturated guitars spit out razor-sharp riffs while raw, full-throated vocals cry out the urge to fight.
The song spins a metaphor of power to be overthrown and established regimes to be shaken. A crown being rattled, then, and tension that keeps building up to a blazing finale, swept away by a visceral and deeply emo guitar solo. A raw, soulful anthem of revolt.
The centrepiece of Ashes, a five-track EP released on 6 February 2026, Shake the Crown marks a new step in the band’s sound, following a debut album steeped in classic rock and an EP of renewal. And the Normandy band has no plans to stop there: a new EP is in the works for December.
About the band
Formed in 2023 near Louviers, in Normandy, GREEN MOSS is an indie rock four-piece that draws its strength from contrasts. Blending the textures of progressive rock, the urgency of punk rock and the catchy melodies of alternative rock, the band crafts an authentic sound meant as an invitation to let go, both on record and live, where its energy comes into its own. Alongside singer Jérôme Moussy are Nicolas Herel on guitar, Nicolas Sys on bass and Yann Jousselin on drums.
After a founding debut album, Fire Within, in April 2024, the EP Lost Connection in July 2025, which saw a new bassist and guitarist join, and the single Start Again in October 2025, the band released Ashes in February 2026. On stage, GREEN MOSS has played the Rasso’Mob festival, the Fury Bar and Le Bifröst in Rouen, and the V and B in Évreux.
