Following Deathly Waltz and Eternal Reverie, Raining Over Your (Our) Grave opens on a fragile, melancholic atmosphere before gradually sliding into something heavier, darker and more oppressive. Symphonic gothic metal collides with powerful doom and black metal passages, and both orchestral grandeur and extreme metal intensity become expressions of mourning.

Gabriëlle’s voice moves from lyrical sweetness to raw, fractured tones and growls, embodying the different faces of grief: longing, disbelief, despair, rage and finally resignation. Rain, ravens, earth, forest and the grave itself build a funerary imagery in which nature seems to bear witness to the protagonist’s suffering. It is not a song about having overcome grief, but about being completely consumed by it.

The language of flowers plays a special part in the song: asphodels evoke remembrance, death and the passage into the afterlife; the cypress, linked to mourning, stands as a silent guardian over the grave; belladonna, “death’s herb”, marks the threshold between despair, mortality and the desire to overcome separation. The video, released on 30 October 2026, aims to portray grief without artificial distance, and genuine tears were shed during filming. As with the first two singles, Yamil Ladner (Abstracted Mind) handled production, arrangements, mixing and mastering, and co-wrote lyrics and music; the artwork is by Jacqueline Marie Rusk.

About the band

Born in Venezuela to Italian heritage, Gabriëlle Driessen is a singer, cellist and composer. She blends symphonic and gothic metal with touches of doom and black metal, lyrical and contemporary vocals, growls and cinematic orchestration, a mix she calls “dark fantasy metal”. She grew up surrounded by music, with a father who was a lyrical tenor by passion and a pianist brother, and began classical voice training at eleven after discovering Epica’s The Phantom Agony. After moving to Spain, she graduated in Musicology from the University of Oviedo in 2025. Her universe extends into a literary trilogy inspired by Celtic and Norse mythology, especially the figure of the Morrigan, around love, death, destiny and transcendence. Her debut album, Beyond Our Endlessness, is being released single by single between 2026 and 2027.
