ENDLESS - Fear for You (2026)
Some songs take their time. Fear for You is one of them. Written in the 90s, when the members of ENDLESS were still students in Angoulême, it was already part of the band’s set, to the point that it appears in a press article announcing one of their gigs in 1998. Then the band went on hiatus, and the song stayed where many others had ended up: on old rehearsal tapes, and in their memories. “In our heads, in our fingers and in our hearts.”
When the five musicians plugged their amps back in nearly thirty years later, they decided to revisit those songs without reinventing them, to finally give them the recording they had never been able to make. Fear for You is one of the band’s darkest and most powerful tracks: a deliberately simple riff, alternating heavy and more melodic passages, a wah-wah solo “the way nobody does anymore”, then a bridge where the song breathes before taking off again.
The lyrics are about fear, for someone else, for yourself, for what lies ahead, but also about the will to keep going in spite of it. “I fear for you, I fear for me, fear of the future”: at 19, they were already writing about that anxiety. Thirty years later the world has changed, but that fear is still there, which gives the song a timeless resonance. Released with a video, the track is now travelling as far as Brazil and Mexico through rock playlists, and has even been played on air in Australia. As the band puts it, the song hasn’t changed: its moment has simply arrived.
About the band
ENDLESS is first and foremost the story of five high-school friends who came together in Angoulême in 1992 over a shared love of rock and hard rock: Christophe on vocals, Sylvain and Julien on guitars, Franck on bass and Vincent on drums. In the 90s the band played bars, venues and festivals around the region, mixing original songs with covers of Metallica, AC/DC and Queen. Then studies, work and distance gradually pulled the musicians apart, and the songs survived on a few tapes, VHS and a live CD.
Nearly thirty years later, the original line-up reunited, first just for fun, then with an idea: to finally record the songs they wrote as teenagers, imperfections and all. Renamed Endless / Since 1992, the band is not chasing a career; it is finishing a story left unfinished. After Fuck School and Is It Right?, then Fear for You in 2026, two more songs from the 90s, Lately and Too Late, are in the works, and a new session is planned for Poor, “a seven-minute block of reinforced concrete”. Five friends, the same line-up, the same songs, thirty years later.
