DSKS - Carla sur le carrelage (2025)
It all starts with a sensation: the cold of the tiles against the skin. With Carla sur le carrelage (“Carla on the tiles”), DSKS deliver a song about passionate complicity and shared pleasure, and more specifically female pleasure, since it touches on female ejaculation. A rarely sung subject, which the trio tackles without taboo but always through suggestion, leaving the rest to the imagination.
Launched at 162 bpm, the track races through one sensation after another. The lovemaking is on the chaotic side, “like mud wrestling”, as the lyrics put it, but the music never loses the thread of its groove or its garage rock energy. Played as a trio, the instrumental ending may sound to some like an orgasmic wave, driven by nothing more than a few rising notes on the bass. Minimalist instrumentation, but seriously effective, in a true back-to-the-roots rock’n’roll spirit.
About the band
All leopard print and sweat, DSKS were born from the meeting of Douglas, Sam and Kevin, whose initials make up the band’s name. A direct, punchy power trio plugged into the original flame of rock’n’roll, with no musical or lyrical taboos. Sometimes rock, sometimes groovy, their style could be called Garage Glamour, with French-language lyrics mostly about sensuality, eroticism, and more if the mood strikes.
From Plus belle que jamais to Vices et délices, by way of Poupée Vaudou, Carla sur le carrelage or their cover of J’aime regarder les filles, their songs swing between desire, frustration, fulfilment and addiction, with catchy riffs and sultry atmospheres.
