Dirty Shakers - No Spoil (2025)
For a moment, it might sound like Always on the Run by our friend Kravitz.
Except it’s rougher, tighter, and clearly meaner.
A Frusciante-esque funk-rock riff, driven by a heavyweight rhythm section that sways around a clear and sharp voice, like an Opinel knife. You’re immediately transported into the universe of the new "Brute Blues" band from Paris, who have been storming all the indie stages in the capital for the past year. This track is a preview of their debut album Live & Loud, captured in one take, available on platforms starting early June. No spoilers, but… Fans of heavy rock, acrobatic rhythms, and steroid-laden solos will definitely get their money’s worth.
About the DIRTY SHAKERS
Take a guitarist who used to be a drummer in Swedish High Energy Rock, a bassist from experimental metal, an indie rock drummer, and a vocalist who is the spiritual son of Rival Sons, and you’ve got all the ingredients to return to the roots of Southern US Blues Rock, but with an angry twist. These seasoned musicians have been tearing up stages for 15 years and now come together around a new anachronistic project, blending Hendrix, Ayron Jones, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Tyler Bryant, and Radio Moscow at a time when French rock only swears by metal. Dirty Shakers is Blues Rock flirting with Funk and Hard Rock, smelling of Kentucky, and taking you grooving at full speed to catchy choruses and triple-crochet solos. A cocktail for connoisseurs, best served on the ROCKS.
