Electric Press Kit
The post-punk of Parisian band Electric Press Kit is reminiscent of the raw energy of Wire and the biting cold hours of coldwave. With two studio albums, "Torsions" (2011) and "Low Cost" (2015), under their belt, along with two anthologies of rare tracks— "Re-Released 96-06 ALBUM" (which features the group during their early demo days) and "Lost Tracks" (an album containing remixes and live versions)—Electric Press Kit evokes a multitude of familiar influences: Joy Division, Killing Joke, Siglo XX, Dance Society, as well as noisier rock elements like Unsane, Sonic Youth, Big Black, and indie rock bands such as the Pixies. The album "EXIT" was released in 2021 on BLU-CRUSH RECORDS. Electric Press Kit has shared the stage with artists like The Chameleons, Collection d'Arnell Andrea, and Wedding Present, and has performed over 100 shows... "ELECTRIC PRESS KIT is now established as one of the best hopes in active French post-punk. EPK even has a potential hit that's purely punk: 'Power of Hate'!" (Elegy, issue 69, p.6.)
They will be performing on May 16 at the QG Oberkampf with One For Jude (New Wave-Shoegaze / Paris) and Moonya (Dream Pop / Brionne).
