In December 2023, the band began performing live concerts in Paris and the surrounding region. One year later, they entered the studio to record this EP, Looking Glass .

The four tracks, recorded live (with a few rare overdubs), captured the raw energy of the band over three days in early December 2024, in a studio set up in the former cellars of the Château du PortHublé, near Saintes, in Charente-Maritime. The entire project will be mixed and mastered by Ofir, a sound engineer by trade.

The four tracks reflect the best of English indie rock, or even Britpop, with a strong neo-psychedelic hue.

“Looking Glass” kicks things off with its upbeat tempo and punchy riff, highlighting the band’s fervor and songwriting quality. It’s like the timeless child of The Smiths’ “What Difference Does It Make” and The La’s “I Can’t Sleep.” So British…

“The Blame” begins with a powerful bass/drum tension, a threatening and hypnotic pursuit. Layers of guitars gradually enter beneath the vocals, eventually exploding into a fireworks display reminiscent of The Verve’s Northern Soul era, with a psychedelic riff that Soft Boys wouldn’t disown. The Damage: a land of contrasts…

“The Choice” reveals itself as a ballad with beautifully intertwined arpeggios, joined by a deep, angular guitar line that accumulates in counterpoint. A calm, dreamy, and ethereal track, a true breath of fresh air for this EP. While my guitar gently weeps…

“The Guy With Glasses” is an uptempo gem of psychedelia. The chromatic riffs recall once again the Soft Boys and the eccentricity of Syd Barrett-era Pink Floyd (Interstellar Overdrive / Lucifer Sam ). There’s also a lot of Barrett-esque energy in the vocal harmonies.

In the end, four catchy tracks with impeccable writing, which we hope will give rise to a second EP, and then an album.
